Glitch asked:

I am interested in purshasing a new motorcycle to help me with the legacy run next year. Its about a weeks worth of constant riding so I am trying to find out which is better the Kawasaki KLR 650 or my highly modified 2003 Honda Shadow VT750DC. I have completely rebuilt my old bike into a touring motorcycle complete with hard bags and trunk, windshield and floorboards and better seat. You can see pics of my bike at… http://www.a1hardbags.com/motorcycle-hard-bags/ln-saddlebags/cat_15.html Just watch for the only white bike in the slide show. I work at a kawasaki deaer and we have a 2008 Kawasaki KLR 650 on our sales floor for 6000… in my price range with bags and better windshield. Which would you drive on this run, my old DC or the Kawasaki KLR 650?

Tori asked:

“Brooke,” a rather scrawny girl yelled out, “happy birthday!”
“Thanks Faustine!” Brooke called back.
The girl was obviously unhappy for what should have been a joyful time. She had chestnut hair that was rather curly. Once out of the girl named Faustine’s sight, she became nervous. Brooke peered down the next street before she turned. Her cleats made a clicking sound on the pavement as she walked. Looking around, she saw that no one was around. Bending down, she reached for a jacket from her sports bag and quickly put it on. Suddenly, she started in a brisk walk down the road.
She had been acting like this for days now. She had a hunch that something would happen, but she did not know what.
The sound of a nearby motorbike hit her eardrums and she started to slow. When realizing the man was not going past her, she reached for her cell phone. It seemed minutes had passed before her adrenaline had gotten the best of her.
She turned around and yelled, “Leave me alone!”
However the man did not leave.
Determined to make him leave, she screamed, “Go away!”
The mysterious man sped down the street and stopped in front of her. He would have nearly broken her toe if he had gone further. He took off his helmet. Her guess was that he was about eighteen and he had about the same hair color as her.
Brooke then screamed again at him, “Did you not hear me?”
“Oh I did. I just wanted to see your response to it. You’re gonna need that attitude later.” he said.
“What are you talking about?” She replied.
“Come with me,” the man’s voice abruptly changed to a much lower tone then said, “and you’ll find out.”
“Ha ha, no. I had the ‘stranger danger’ talk in the second grade.”
“Well I’m technically not a stranger.”
“But I don’t know you.”
“You should.”
“And why is that?” She shot back.
“Because I’m your brother.”
It had taken her a moment to process what he had said. Without looking back, she ran.
He kept up with her and yelled over the engine, “You know you are eventually going to get tired of running.”
She ignored him. After all, he could have been a mass murderer for all she knew! Brooke knew that it was true though. She had just come from soccer practice where she had been running for two hours.
Another turn and soon she would be at her house. Soon people were looking out their windows, probably wondering what all the noise was about. It seemed that they were attracting quite a lot of attention.
Finally, after what seemed like hours, they arrived at the block her house was at. She saw the house getting bigger as they drew closer. Brooke’s mother saw her and smiled; probably because she thought Brooke would be walking as slow as possible since it was her birthday. She had never liked it because of all the attention, but now she did not care what day it was. Her mother’s joyful expression dispersed when she saw who was behind her daughter.
Brooke’s mother ran toward her. When they reached each other she suffocated her in a hug.
Her mother was screaming at the top of her lungs, “No! You can’t! Not now!”
“Let’s all just calm down.” the boy said.
“Calm down? Calm down?! I can’t ‘calm down’ Brian!” her mother yelled.
“ I can’t control the king’s wishes,” the boy apparently named Brian said.
Her mum looked to Brooke then him several times and said, “You said eighteen! Does she look eighteen to you?”
Brian looked at her mother straight in the face and replied, “My knowledge of when she would be taken has changed since then.”
“Wait!” Brooke yelled at the top of her lungs.
“Brooke I-” Her mother started to speak but she cut in.
Brooke walked back over to him. “Now tell me what’s going on!”
“It’s better to show than to tell. I wouldn’t do it justice if I tried to explain it.” Brian said.
“Brooke, this is your brother. He— He was taken away from us when he was a baby. We saw him a few times throughout the years… I suppose you saw him too but you either didn’t know who he was or you were to young to remember,” now that she had thought about it, his face did seem a bit familiar and then her mother continued, “but then he didn’t show up for three years.”
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you where I was but I-” Her mother turned her back to him and focused on her daughter. Brooke almost felt sorry for Brian. Her mum was practically making me her favorite over him and he looked disappointed.
“Go in the house while I have a few words with your brother,” her mum said nudging her toward the house.
Brooke obeyed. She hadn’t seen her that mad in ages; the last time being when she didn’t come home one night after they had a spat.
Brooke ran up the stairs and looked through her closet. At last she found what she was looking for: a traveling pack she had gotten in Colorado the summer before. Brooke started putting in a few sets of clothes. Brooke knew either she could run away, or my newly found brother would take her away. She then ran back down stairs into the garage.
