Is forcing someone to wear a motorcycle helmet telling them what they can do with their own body?

motorbike bags
Brüno asked:

Is it freedom?

Deleted Answer: They should be sure to have “their own” adequate health insurance if they so choose to be that dumb. The problem is they usually don’t and who gets left holding the bag? You got it, taxpayers.

It’s hard enough riding among SUVs and Semi’s in a car. But then you willingly get on the open road on a bike with no helmet? How is that not dumb? A friend of mine just lost a firend to a motorbike accident and he was wearing a helmet. I had just met the guy that day, he was hit that night. He died in hospital after a few days but at least his family got to visit him while alive. He probably would have died on the spot without a helmet. And he was hit by a person who ran a red light. So no matter how careful you are riding helmetless you can’t control the actions of others on the road.
We are not ENTITLED to drive cars and ride motorcycles. If we were I wouldn’t even ask the question. These are privileges. There in lies the difference between condoms and helmets. *** is a right if both or all parties involved agree. However, I’m not allowed to go boink in the middle of the day in the park or I will end up paying not only a fine but maybe a little jail time as well.

What is the best way to rain proof a book bag?

motorcycle bags
Jesse asked:

I’m in college and my motorcycle is my only reliable transportation to and from anywhere. But a major downside to no roof is rain soaking my book bag. My saddle bags are not large enough to carry some of my books and I decided the best way is to rain proof my book bag from the elements. Or at least just rain, rocks aren’t known for falling from the sky around here so I’m alright with just rain proofing it. It is an LL Bean book bag just in case that helps any so its really sturdy already. Any suggestions would help tremendously, thank you.

Does Ben Roethlisberger’s accident change your opinion about wearing motorcycle helmets?

motorcycle bags
Wide Awake asked:

I know I will hear from a lot of riders that it’s their choice, not a state/govt decision, OK fine. That’s not the question.

The question is, has the seriousness of his accident and what could have been a life-threatening or career-ending injury changed your stance on the issue?

As for me, I’m a firm believer in seat belts, air bags, helmets or anything else that will help keep people safer. To me, choosing not to use them is “survival of the fittest” at work.
